Kevin McFarland '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kevin McFarland, a member of the Class of 2023.  I am a 6’3” WR/DB who attends Hamburg Area High School In Hamburg, PA.  At a young age I developed a passion for competing. I would watch members of my family talk about the successes they accomplished in sports and the passion they showed for doing something they loved. I always wanted those experiences and it has drove me to attain those accomplishments and feel that passion myself. 

On the field, I have played both DB and WR since my freshman year on our varsity team (3 yr starter at DB - 2 yr starter at WR). I picked up playing football my 8th grade year, so the transition to HS level playing had a huge learning curve. Through hard work and a group of great coaches/trainers I feel I have adjusted very well and play a vital role on our team. I have also started at PG for our varsity basketball team since my freshman year; in addition, I am a member of the varsity Tennis team.

I have excelled in the classroom as well, and currently hold 103 GPA which has put me in the top 10% of my class. I am President of the Class of 2023 for the 3rd year in a row and an active member of several school clubs including National Honor Society. As you can see thus far in High School I have demonstrated my ability to be successful both in the classroom and on the athletic fields. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and in athletics. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.
