My personal statement is that I view football as preparation for other things in life. Football has helped me to learn valuable lessons in leadership, hard work, team work, dealing with adversity as well as dealing with success.
I feel that I bring to a team great leadership. I have been a captain throughout my football career and I feel that the team is the most important thing on the field, not individual accomplishments. I have been lucky to play on and captain teams that have won championships as well as those who have lost important games.
I view my academics as being just important as my athletics. Football will not last forever so I want to obtain my degree so I will have just as bright of a future outside of football as I feel that I have with football. I have seen how important education has been to my parents and I want to be like them.
