As a student athlete I have always strived to also keep my grades up while being the best athlete I can be. I understand they will go hand in hand when selecting a college...or when a college selects me.
My goal is to attend a D1 university and play football. I am currently in 11th grade and have started the last 3 seasons on the Varsity Football team. In my freshman year, I primarily returned punts and kickoffs. I also played wide receiver and running back. I had a total of 5 touchdowns my freshman season. During my sophomore season, I played running back, wide receiver, free safety and continued to return kickoffs and punts. I had a total of 14 touchdowns and one 2 point conversion. I was chosen to the 2nd Team All Conference and the NPF All Star Honorable Mention Team. This year I had 29 total touchdowns and was chosen as 1ST Team All State( ATH), Citizens Voice Player of the Year, Times Leader MVP, District 2 Offensive MVP.
I also play varsity basketball. During my freshman year I played both jv and varsity at point guard. During my sophomore year I was the starting varsity point guard. Twice I was game high with 25 points. I had a total of 288 points this season. And have been named 2nd Team All Conference.
I would be a great asset to any sports team in the fact that I work hard at the sport I am involved in. I have been fortunate to be given the opportunity to always "play up" and have been able to be a huge contributor to the team. I am never late for practice. I always give 110%.
Academically, I work hard to achieve the GPA I currently have(3.9). I make a conscious effort to not let my grades fall. My career goal is in medicine and I know my grades will play a huge factor in my future.
In my down time I am currently working a part time job and still go to the gym when not in the weight room for football.
