Desmond Williams '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Desmond Williams. I’m a 6’1 250lb senior defensive end from Wren High in Piedmont, SC. I’ve been playing football since I was 6 years old. I was defensive linemen of the year on my freshmen ,JV football & varsity teams. This season I have 80 tackles, 16 tfl, & 7 sacks. My team is 9-0 & #3 in class 3A. Last season, I completed the season with 74 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 2 caused fumble, 3 recoveries &1 interception. I was also named second team all-region for my junior season and Wren varsity defensive linemen of the year. In week 3, I was selected Anderson Area TD Club linemen of the week. My senior season team goal is to do my part for my team to win the conference & state championship. My biggest assets are that I’m very coachable, hardworking & unselfish. I train for football year round with personal training, combines, and football camps.  I want to be a team leader on and off the field. My parents have encouraged me to use academics and or football to earn a free education. I have a 3.56 GPA. Everyone dreams of playing FBS football, but I’m interested in all levels (FCS, Div 1, 2 & 3). My coach and parents have taught me the importance of not limiting myself in life. Therefore, my character on the field play & academics are important to me for getting to college. I love God, family and hanging with friends. Hopefully in the future I will be blessed with offers to continue my education.
