After moving to Harrison, MI the summer before my eighth-grade year, the Harrison junior high school coach reached out and invited me to join the football team. During the first practices I realized that hard work and dedication were going to be core values that I would have to quickly accept if I were going to be successful. After the football season I moved to my fathers in Tennessee where I joined the West Carroll varsity football team as a freshman. While playing my freshman season, we missed the playoffs by a wide margin. It was then I re-grouped and focused on how I could be a more solid and versatile athlete. During my sophomore season I not only played several positions on defensive, I also played left and right guard, and center on offence and longer snapper as well.
Although our team missed the playoffs my freshman and sophomore years, I have been fortunate enough to play on a team that is improving each season. Over the course of three seasons I have learned the importance of commitment, self-sacrifice, a strong will, and good work ethic, all while missing the playoffs. These skills will be utilized over the next two years to reach academic goals such as graduating with honors and being recognized for participation in dual enrollment classes, and athletic goals like securing first West Carroll playoff birth in 6 years. I’m searching for the program that is the best fit for me athletically and academically. I believe I possess the athletic ability to not only play for a collegiate program, but to make an immediate impact with the character, work ethic, and leadership skills that I possess.
