My name is Cole Hardie Davis and I am a senior. I am 6'1" and I weigh 200 pounds.
Reflecting on my young life, I was raised by parents who are military/law enforcement/ and coaches. The common theme that defines me is the guiding principle from which I was raised. "It is not your duty to be average. It is your duty to set a higher example for others to follow. I did. You can. You will." The Honorable Lincoln M. Alexander.
I am convinced that we, as humans, are not meant or designed to be average. That we all have remarkable resiliency and talents that are innate to one and all. For me, I have been playing sports my whole life. In order to fully and objectively appreciate my love for football it starts in baseball. Baseball was my very first sport and my father taught me everything. My father put a bat in my hand when I was just learning to walk and ever since then baseball has been a part of me, and who I am today. When I was little, my dad wanted me to be a powerful hitter and to play everywhere on the field. Due to my father's efforts to instill resiliency in the face of adversity in developing fine and complex motor skill sets, I now play centerfield, closing pitcher, serve in the five-hole hitter designation, quarterback, linebacker, safety and punter. Baseball and Football taught me everything in becoming a humble teammate, motivational leader, and healthy example. It taught me how to always get up and never be intimidated by anyone psychologically or physiologically. I have been fortunate to experience how my individual and collective collaborations have influenced other endeavors like football and academics. Baseball led me into football at a young age; and I ended up playing linebacker/quarterback/special teams on varsity as a sophomore and contributing to the championship season reaching District/Bi-District/Area/Region and State Semi-Finals in one of toughest divisions in Texas high school sports (District 12-5A Division II). Our team, McCallum Knights, broke every AISD record for an historical event I feel lucky to be a part.
By considering challenges as healthy opportunities to learn, grow, and enhance, I have been able to achieve the following as a dual sport varsity athlete: In Football: 2017-18: Texas District 12-5A Division 2: District/Area/Region Champions and State Semi-Finalist. 2018-19: Texas District 12-5A Division 1: All District Dual Threat QB; VYPE MVP; Captain. 2019-20: Dave Campbell's Texas High School Report: District 12-5A Division 1 Preseason Offensive MVP; VYPE Films Poll: Top Returning Quarterback in Central Texas Rank #1; and Captain.
In Football, I was a member of the championship team that broke every record both offense and defense in AISD history. In my 2017-2018 Varsity Champion Season, I was a sophomore that started as an outside linebacker that achieved 33 solo tackles and 23 team assist tackles. I was also the back-up quarterback who rushed 18 times for 217 yards (Avg: 12.1 ypc) and four rushing TDs. In the 2018-2019 Varsity Season, I was the designated varsity quarterback. I threw for 13 TDs and Rushed for 10 TDs (23 total TDs). I have amassed 1,002 career passing yards, 13 Passing touchdowns, and rushed for 970 career yards (averaging 7.5 ypc), and 14 Rushing touchdowns (career combined 27 TDs).

Academically, as an example to others, I have strived to achieve good academics by investing in my relationship with teachers to take on difficult courses at the AP level and remain within compliance of all rules, procedures, regulations and law remaining eligible to play sports out of respect for my team. Though these efforts seem compulsory, for me, the greatest victory remains in the fact that I am proud of being a healthy contributing team player, helping others achieve their goals and witnessing their individual victories in both sports and academics.
In the spirit of Lincoln Alexander's quote, I realize that my parents and coaches have instilled in me a champion mindset not just for the field of play but for my life. I am interested in playing collegiate football/baseball and learning more about academic leadership and development as a healthy athlete.
There are many challenging collegiate programs in this country; however, being a part of a leadership pedigree that builds healthy minds, spirits and bodies; I feel, would benefit my efforts to continue to inspire where I can; and further evolve in overall leadership, development and example. To literally, and figuratively, fulfill my duty to set the higher example for others to follow.
I feel that collegiate athletic programs can uniquely assist me in my humble ambitions to reach full potential to not only enhance my academic skill sets but illuminate my path with healthy social relationships that lasts a lifetime.
