Personal Statement

My name is Myles Moody and I am a senior attending Canyon High School. I have been playing tackle football since the age of five and for the last two years, in my off season, I have wrestled at the varsity level.  I come from a military family, both parents active duty Air Force. Which has resulted in quite a few challenges that have helped shape me into the person I am today. I was Born on December 6th 2002  while my parents were stationed in Misawa Japan. Soon after, my family  transitioned to military assignments in Montana, Ohio, Alaska, then finally Texas. During this time only a few things remained stable. The first, and most important, has been my family - without their love, guidance, and support I would not be where I am today. And the second is football.

Football has remained a constant in my life because no matter where we moved to football was there. It helped me to stay motivated and acclimate well to my new environment. I have had to face the adversity of attending three different schools in the span of one year. Having both of my parents deployed overseas at the same time.  And coming into established teams needing to make a splash. It was in these moments that I was able to dig deep and identify my strengths.

In my high school career I have shown my ability to adapt to team needs and to use my skills to perform. For example, due to my athleticism, speed, and strength I was placed as both left and right guard on the offensive line. Then later, because of injury to the starting center, I was moved to that position showcasing my physicality. During my time on Varsity I played two defensive positions to include defensive end, and middle linebacker. And on the offensive side I am in the fullback position. Playing multiple positions have provided me with the experience to understand the game at multiple levels.

I believe that I would be a great addition to a team at the collegiate level because I am: coach-able, disciplined, hard working, driven, strong physicality/mentally, great knowledge and love for the game, and have a desire to win!
