Personal Statement

I , Marshal Funches,  collegiate goals and aspirations are to earn a opportunity to continue playing football through my efforts, determination, love and passion for the game of football and the experiences it affords at the collegiate level while also having the opportunity to pursue my degree in my chosen field of study. I am a good candidate for continuing to play football for a team on the collegiate level because I am desiring, wanting and have always prepared for doing so throughout my entire life not only in the sport but academically as well.  I'm coachable,  competitive and always looking to opportunity to get better and lead by example. I've been around those who played sports all my life and I myself started playing football and other sports when I was 4 years old and have continued to work at it on and off the field in order to have an chance to continue playing it in college as a student-athlete and possibly even further afterwards.  I like to follow my father, older brothers and other family members foot steps in having the opportunity to experience being a collegiate student-athlete and it's experiences. What would makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics is the fact that I have been around sports all my life and I have witness the good and bad that can go along with responsibilities of being involved as a student-athlete on all levels, youth thru professional. I feel that I have maintain all three, character, athletics and academics to a high level at this point in my life in order to be considered for an opportunity. I've realize that along with being given the opportunity to represent and participate in sports as a student-athlete on any level also comes many other responsibilities and expectations at times away from the sport as well. I've also come to realize and recognize that there is also a vast amount of experiences that can also go along with and help in my development and growth socially, emotionally and physically that will help in also promote a brighter future and career. I've had the opportunity to witness such things mostly through my experiences with immediate family and some close friends of our family who are current or were former student-athletes.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
