My name is Matthew “Bam” Bennett. I include my full name because my mom says, “They need to know your God-given name too.” My parents nicknamed me after Bam Bam from the Flintstones, and once I started playing sports it just stuck as “BAM”. I started playing sports at the age of three. I have played soccer, baseball, and basketball but there was and always has been something special about football. At my very first football practice in 2nd grade, the coach asked who wanted to be the quarterback. I was the only one that raised my hand.
I am an overall quite person, but every time I step on the field, I come alive. As the leader of the team, I always give 110% thus, in return my teammates give 110%. Being a leader through the wins is easy. Being a leader through the losses is what keeps your teammates giving there all. I rise to any challenge that presents itself… I began my freshman year at a new school switching from public school to private school. Academically, I faced adversity keeping up with the curriculum. But with hard work and determination I finished my freshman year strong with grades I am proud of. I am looking for a program that will be good for me athletically and academically. I believe that not only my talent, but my character plus my work-ethic as well as my leadership skills will make an immediate impact on your program.
