Hello my name is Travis Lee Menchaca II. I'm currently junior at La Feria High School. This is an exciting new chapter in my life in which I’m a leader on the field and in the classroom. I‘ve also competed in powerlifting which this will be my 3rd year. Last year I was a regional qualifier and am looking forward to state and nationals this year.
When we moved to La Feria, I had to work harder compared to the rest of the team in order to earn my starting positions on A team and prove to the team and coaches that I have what it takes to lead, push my team to strive better, adapt to a new school, and learn new plays. In order to earn my spots I worked out during the summer six days a week, went to training camps, and started footwork training. My goals for high school are to pass all my A.P. classes with a ninety or above, and graduate high school with an associate’s degree or certification. My goals for college are to have a starting position on the team, and graduate with a bachelor’s degree. I'm a great candidate for your team because I will put extra time in to improve myself, I am coach-able, and hold myself and my team accountable for our actions. What makes me different compared to most athletes is that I continue to push myself and move forward no matter what obstacles come my way, if I fail I don’t see it as a loss but as a learning experience to improve, and I’m always willing to learn.
