Matthew Long '16 Recruiting Profile

I am committed, respectful, determined, a leader on and off the field. Without Football i don't know where I would be, I love this game, I grew up in it and around it my whole life. I'm a hard worker, I give 100% effort for my coaches and my teammates. I do my very best to be the best athlete I can be for myself and for the team to help them in the Fall. What sets me apart from others is I challenge myself everyday, in the weight room, in drills and in school. Challenging myself is a goal for me, so I put myself in advanced classes to see if i can do it. I do my best to get A's in each class, its hard and sometimes i don't, in the weight room I strive to get stronger, I put more weight on and challenge myself to do it, sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't, but when I fail I reflect on it to see what I can do better and use that as motivation. I am also a motivator to the younger players coming up, I help them set goals to achieve to become better athletes, help in the weight room to get stronger, their footwork and speed when we go outside. I'm a good role model to follow, I do the right thing, I know right from wrong, listen well and do what I'm told to do.
