Matthew (Beau) Welch '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Welch, but I have been called 'Beau' all of my life. I would like to start out by saying that Football is my dream. I have been playing football since I was in Kindergarten, and I wish to continue to play as long as God allows me to. I have been a starter on Offense and Defense since I started playing, and I have been one of the tallest and biggest kids in my class for most of my life. I currently stand 6'3" and weigh 198lbs. I believe that Football is a team sport. My mom taught me that there is not one man on the field but 11, and that it takes all of them doing their job to make each play. That is how I like to play football, as a team. I would like to play Football with a team that loves and lives to play football. I have played many positions in the years that I have been playing. I have played the postions of running back, defensive end, and defensive tackle. I have also played as a wide receiver, middle linebacker, center, quarterback, tight end, and more. I enjoy all the positions that I have played because I love football. I work hard to be the best at what ever spot I play. I have been raised by a single mom, and she has supported all my football dreams. She has taught me that I can do all things through Christ and with hard work. She has managed to make sure I had everything I needed to reach my dream of being a football player. I would like to one day coach other boys, and teach them what hard work can get you. I would like to own my own business as a Contractor and build houses, maybe even a skyscraper, or a football stadium. I have two goals that I dream to reach: one is to play football while continuing my education, and the other would of course be to go to the NFL one day. I am looking for a college that will help me to reach my goals. I have looked at some big universities and some small colleges. I love them all, and I look forward to one day being a part of your school.
