Hello Coaches!
My Name is Max Benevedes, I would like to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me. I live in a small rural community in West Texas and attend Smyer High School. I am currently a Junior, graduating in May 2026. I come from a large adoptive family with 6 siblings. I have one older brother and 5 younger sisters.
The love for the game was instilled in me at a very young age by my parents. Football for me isn't just a game, it is family and tradition. For as long as I can remember, my dream has always been playing football in college before getting drafted into the NFL. I know those are big dreams but I believe with the right mindset, determination and self discipline I can achieve my dream and together we can make it a reality.
My academic career in high school is equally important to me. Although it has not been easy, I have been able to maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout the last 3 years in high school. My post- football plan is to become a high school coach and teach history. I would love to take History classes in college as I find the subject very interesting. Many of my teachers have also been my coaches and have had a big influence on me in the classroom and on the field. I plan on keeping my grades to a high standard so that I can graduate with a strong GPA to give myself the best chance of getting into a good college and continue to put in the work on and off the gridiron. I would be a great candidate for your team because I'm a very respectful, and a coach able player, always have been, and always will be. I am a very fast, and competitive player, I have been on varsity track since my freshman year in the 100 meter dash, and 100 meter relay team. What makes me different from the rest of the candidates, is that I will sacrifice a lot for football. Not even a season ending injury stopped me from coming back and playing the sport I love. I would play football until I physically could not anymore, because more than anything my team needed me. Being a football player has always been the dream, going to college as a football player, and going pro has always been the dream. Football has always played a factor in taking thought and feelings away from childhood trauma, it's something that was there that I could lean on. I was raised to work hard and earn what I deserve. I am very respectful to my community and to staff. In and out of that school uniform I am a good influence, and show people what a good leader looks like. I'm responsible, and self-disciplined when it comes to what I need to do in the classroom and on the field. I am always open for positive criticism so that I can be the best version of myself. I want to be that person that shows people that no matter where you come from, no matter what you do, you can still do big things and that people care for you, and that God loves you.
I want to thank all coaches and staff that view me and thank you for this opportunity.
Sincerely, Max Benevedes
