I love football and I love to run. I intend to play football and track, all throughout college. That said, my athletic situation requires some explanation. My family recently relocated to Stephenville, Texas where I now attend Stephenville High School as a senior. For a large part of my senior football season I was rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered at Perrin HS in the 2017 season. I feel I was off to a good start as starting QB at Perrin before the injury in 2017, with five TD passes and two long TD runs in only two and one half games. I was injured while making a cut on another long run and that was the end of my 2017 season . When Perrin ISD opted to go to 6 man football in 2018, I transferred to Stephenville. I had hoped to be back in top condition for my senior season at Stephenville HS so that I could make a significant contribution to the team but a slow recovery hampered that effort . The good news is, now I am bigger, stronger and faster than ever before. This past season will only be a hiccup in my football future. In college, I will concentrate on football, track and academics. I am primarily a quarterback, but as a sophomore I played wide receiver and backup QB behind a senior QB. I did start at QB for one game and played well with 2 long runs, 60 and 42 yards, for TDs and a 40 yard TD pass. With my overall performance as a receiver, defensive back and part time QB, I was chosen by the District coaches as Newcomer of the Year. That is a top 5 superlative All-District Award that I am proud to add to my resume. Understanding that speed is an essential element in a successful football career, I feel compelled to mention that my freshman season in Varsity Track culminated with me as the Area Individual 200 Meter Champion with one of the fastest 2A times in the State. I also anchored both the Area Champion 4 x 200 Relay and the Regional Qualifier 4 x 400 Relay teams to school record times. I believe I will improve on those performances this coming track season.
In the summer of 2015, as a freshman, I attended the Dallas FBU Camp as a wide receiver, even though I had never played the position. I was selected as one of the top athletes to attend their prestigious Top Gun Camp in Rock Hill South Carolina. At Top Gun I was chosen as a Top 5 Receiver from among dozens of other top athletes from around the country. This award included an invitation to the US Army National Combine in January 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. Invited as one of only twenty Freshmen, I competed against the top 600 rising juniors and seniors in the country where I did well, out performing more than 400 of those elite athletes.
At the Dallas FBU Camp in 2014, as a QB, I was selected by coaches there, to attend my first FBU Top Gun Camp in Ohio. There I competed against the best middle school athletes in the country. In Ohio, I gained confidence in my ability to perform on a high level against the toughest competition in my age bracket. Later in 2014, I competed for, and won, a spot as one of 2 quarterbacks on the FBU 8th grade North Texas National Championship Tournament team and competed in that nation wide tournament gaining valuable experience competing against high level athletes. The reason I mention these accomplishments is to substantiate that I have always been an outstanding player. Through youth football, Jr. High and High School. By missing most of my junior and senior years I fear I will be overlooked by those I could contribute to most. However, I will play outstanding football for some college program somewhere.
My future goals for football, are to be recognized as an excellent prospect for an outstanding college football program. I intend to perform well enough to be recognized as worthy of a college football scholarship and to help that team and school be successful. I am a serious student of football. I love the competition and feel that I am a natural leader. Academically, I am an A student, an avid reader, and I love a challenge. A college education is very important to me in helping to determine my life's path after football. I feel I have the arm, the speed, and the size to develop into an excellent college player. I also feel that I possess the intangibles that are required to perform at a high level at the QB position and WR if called on. I'm willing to put the time in through study and training to accomplish that goal. I intend to continue to develop both physically and mentally into a young man of integrity and superior athletic ability. I welcome all suggestions and contributions from knowledgeable people to help me accomplish those goals. College coaches don't make the mistake of passing on Hank Moore.
