After high school graduation I was offered a preferred walk-on opportunity to continue playing football at the collegiate level. I was very honored to be selected, but I wanted to serve our country first. I joined the Army as an infantryman. I excelled during my enlistment and was even promoted to Sergeant (E5), a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) - a level rarely attained in such a short period of time. I mention this only as an example that I am focused and I succeed at whatever task is placed in front of me.
During my enlistment, I remained focused on weight training and maintained a strict adherence to my meal plan. I am now 6' tall and weigh in at 205 lbs, gaining 20 lbs of muscle these past 4 years. I am a bit 'combine rusty' right now, but I am confident I will be ready to compete and push my teammates if given an opportunity to suit up as a walk-on.
It has been 4 years since I last played at the high school level but I did have the opportunity to compete against some semi-pro teams that traveled to Ft. Campbell. It was mostly for fun, but you would be hard pressed to find anyone who did not take it seriously.
I love this game. I strive to out-hustle all of my teammates. And I pride myself in being coachable and helping my team be successful in any way I can. I am seeking the coach who will give me an opportunity to get on the field. I will take it from there. I still have all of my NCAA eligibility. I will make a solid contribution both in the near term as well as over the foreseeable future.
