I have been told that I am a "gamer" and "leader". I make things happen in the game, consistently exceeding expectations and competing relentlessly. I have played baseball, football, and basketball growing up, but migrated towards football due to the strategy, quick thinking and athletic ability required to achieve in a duel-threat QB position. At Lake Travis, TX I have been referred to as "Baker" or "Manziel" with my escapeability and passing accuracy, as well as my grit to get the job done. I am not soft, do not backdown from a challenge and I thrive under pressure...I want the ball with 10 seconds left and down by 2.
Each year, I have been told that it is probably my last year at QB at Lake Travis. With Lake Travis putting out 10 D-1 QBs over the past 12 years, and with currently competing against the #2 ranked 2020 QB in Texas, there is always a competitor that will challenge me each year. There were 12 QBs competing against me for the Freshman team...with 3 who moved in the summer before. I won the spot and our team went 10-0. I was told that because of my size, I would not start on the A-team JV (we have 3 JV teams). Not only did I start, but I finished with 36 TD's against just 2 turn-overs and led our team to the District championship. I was Offensive player of the game 5 times, and Special teams player of the game once. Currently, I am competing for the Varsity role at The Woodlands High School under Coach Jim Rapp, upon moving to Houston, TX.
I have led my 7on7 teams to the Texas state championship (JV), Junior Olympics Championship (14U) and final 4 at Nationals (14U) over the past couple of years.
My aspirations are to play in college, to continue to enjoy the sport, the challenges it presents, and the show those who think I am "too small" that I can play at the next level. I want to lead the right program to reach a higher level than they have in the past.
