Personal Statement

I have played football for most of my life and it has taught me the value of teamwork, determination, and dedication. In my first year of high school in Amarillo, I played on our freshman team and we won our district. I also played with our varsity team during playoffs that year, a huge accomplishment for me. I moved to the Dallas Metroplex as a sophomore, which was a humbling experience. Our football program was in a rebuilding period and I learned that there's more to football than just winning. I am a leader on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom as well. I always try to bring out the best in my teammates and others, helping them to succeed in whatever their goals may be. I am consistently looking for ways to improve myself, striving to be the best possible person and player that I can be. I also enjoy being of service to others, both around my school and in my community.

  • During the Kohl’s Texas Showcase, McLeland snapped with power and consistency throughout the entire camp. McLeland finished the Showcase by scoring on all but one of his charted long snaps and ran a 4.61 second 40 yard dash. He recently attended the Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp and showed the same consistency and ability to snap a great football. McLeland snaps a very clean ball and will be able to make an impact in coverage for any program in the country.

By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
