My future is the most important thing to me. It is the next few years of my life that will shape what happens over the next 50 years. I am very fortunate to have the mentality that I do and having such puts me in position for success. My mentality consists of several components among them are character traits such as: attitude, work ethic, respect, honesty, responsibility, tenacity, and goal setting. Everything that I do revolves around each of these traits. In the classroom I am ferocious. I take no time off when it comes to my studies. If there is one thing that will affect me more than anything else as a student it is my academics. I accept nothing less than the best, and that state of mind has gotten me to a straight “A” transcript, as well as an overall GPA of 3.98 with a high school career full of Honor Roll awards. That is something I take very much pride in. This will lead me to my collegiate academic career where I will strive to be even better than I am now. When it comes to athletics my mindset is no different. I have the intangibles as an athlete, the “Rudy Heart”, the street fighter mentality, and a focus on details comparable to that of the most scrutinizing athletes. As a linebacker I know that not only do I have to be the most athletically sound player, I also have to be the smartest, strongest, and hardest working. I am fortunate enough to be a team captain, and this to me is one of the most special positions on the team. I have been given a position of leadership on my team because of the loving example that I set for my teammates I am constantly the first on in and the last one out when it comes to training and I will do anything for my brothers on the field. I live by the statement that “what you put in is what you get out.” If you want to find success no matter what field it may be in you can find it if you work as smart and as hard as you possibly can then dig a little deeper and work just a little bit harder and a little bit smarter. This serves me well as an athlete having to balance academics and athletics. When the weight lifting at early hours gets tiring, or the two-a-days get a little too hot, it is my mind that enables me to continue to work at my best. I am constantly trying to train at new levels mentally and physically so that I can increase my football IQ, perfect my footwork, know my responsibilities, and prepare for my opponent more than they are preparing for me. I am a passionate person whether it is on the football field or off. I live to work and to serve. I have been a part of dozens of service projects including: painting homes for the community, serving meals at the local homeless shelter, volunteer coaching youth football, visiting the elderly at a local hospice, or doing my duty as an boy scout to god and county. I love living, it’s infectious and I am so excited to continue pushing myself in all aspects of life, especially football. To list several of my personal achievements that have not yet been mentioned I am a 3 time state champion rugby player with word renowned Highland rugby club and Trybe rugby club, I was invited to be on the varsity Trybe nationals team as a sophomore (it was a very senior heavy team), I have been blessed to recieve several accolades from my team I am currently the bearer of the team pride ring. This award is given from one senior to one junior each year. I was awarded the team Iron man award for setting a record at a California tournament by power cleaning 185lbs 113 times. I am also an eagle scout.
