My name is Joshua King and I'm a 5'11"', 215 pound inside linebacker. I started playing football when I was four years old and I have loved every single day of it. In my Senior season I was Team Captain (Offense & Defense), starter at Linebacker, Half-Back and Long Snapper. I was the only underclassmen to receive the Coach's Award in 2014, 2015 & 2016. I currently have a 4.19 GPA, am ranked 62/688 and have 4 AP classes. I am a 2x All-State Linebacker, have been a 2x DPOY. I have 100+ tackles this year, 2 interceptions, 5 TD's on offense.
I've been told by numerous coaches that I am very persistent and hardworking. As a Senior I want to lead my team and act as a mentor and good example to the underclassmen. I had to ask Coach Cox for a reference and this is what he said: "In my 30 years of coaching, Josh has been the most enjoyable to coach. His understanding and passion for the game is hard to find in players today. His character and personality made him the best person to lead the Battlefield football program the last four years." I asked my Linebackers coach for a recommendation and he said "Josh has an eye for the ball and flows down the line very well, he anticipates each play, his situational awareness helps him makes plays based on down and distance as well as his understanding of the game. This kid will be playing on Saturdays, it's just a matter of where. Very coachable. Great kid with a great attitude. Always says yes sir and no sir etc... I wish I had 10 more just like him. Natural leader as well. Kids and coaches respect him not only because of his ability but also because of the kind of kid he is." I was very honored to hear what both coaches said.
School will always be the number one thing in my life because almost every coach has told me from pee-wee and up- "You will not play football if you do not exceed in school." I would like to go to a college with a high academic background and I would also love to go to a school with a huge sport involvement. I am different from other recruits because of my leadership, my knowledge of the game, the effort I give, and my attitude. I am someone that will always be focused on team first, and setting a good example. My e-mail is [email protected], my HUDL is http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3874750/joshua-king.
