Personal Statement

My name is Ryan Swingle and I am a 6'3" 210 pound Quarterback from Gainesville, Virginia.  I am a three sport varsity athlete but love football and have played it since I was seven.  I've been lucky in that I have always had a lot of success in football, beginning with a Hall of Fame induction for my little league to two consecutive high school region championships, a trip to the state semi-final, and a Division 6 State Championship my sophomore year.  I alternated snaps with a senior my sophmore year at Battlefield High School and was named the Player of the Game in the State Championship.    I started full time my junior year and led the team to the State Semi-Final game after another regional title during what everyone thought would be a rebuilding year.  I am a four year varsity letterman in lacrosse earning All Area, All District and All Region Player of the Year Honors in addition to being selected by US Lacrosse as an All American in 2012.  I was given the award for the Journal Messenger Athlete of the Year and the Gainesville Times Athlete of the Year for 2011-2012.

I am looking for  a school that has very good athletics along with very solid academics. I currently have a 3.76 GPA while taking advanced classes and I have received Academic Letters for both my freshman and sophomore years of high school.  I have always wanted to go into the coaching after I graduate so I am looking for a school with a good management/ business or sports administration program. I believe my best fit is a more competitive level of football. I have had the opportunity to play among the highest level of competition in high school within the state of Virginia and I hope for the opportunity to keep playing at the most competitive level I can.  I am a pro-style quarterback who can run when needed.  I think my biggest strength is the ability to read defenses and I enjoy studying every aspect of the game.
