A State Championship freshman year, leading my team in receptions Sophmore and Junior years, leading my team in rushing junior year, 115 tackles as a sophmore LB, 71 tackles as a junior DT means nothing now. 1st Team All State Underclassmen, 1st Team All 757 Freshman and Sophmore and 1st Team All 757 Juniors means nothing now. 1st Team All District RB and 1st Team All District DL means nothing now. Being last season's Team Captain means nothing now. Why? Because all that is all in the past. I am heading into my Senior season and that IS what matters.
My goals for this season have nothing to do with personal accolades. My goals are all about what my team can accomplish.
It is true that I need to be at my best to help the team. That is what I am working on now. I am with my strength and fitness trainer, Josh Robinson of Head Rush Fitness, four days a week. I am very close to bench pressing 400 lbs but am concentrating on explosion lifts and conditioning. I will be ready on August 8 when practice starts.
I have grown physically, now 6'3", and weigh 245 lbs.
Yes I have definite hopes for college football at the D-1 level and have a number of very fine scholarship offers from terrific coaches and programs. I will not make up my mind until I am completely sure of where the best fit is. Until then my focus is on my team. We have the potential to be very strong...I can't wait!
It is all about the team.....come watch!
