Personal Statement

Hi. I'm Cam Margaris and my dream is to play football at the next level. I finished another season as Quarterback at Kelso High School, in Kelso Washington (Division 4A). This is my 3rd year of Varsity Football; in my Sophomore year, I was the first sophomore to quarterback a full game in many years. I was our starter last year (2008), leaving only minutes to be played by the back-up. I continued as our starter this year (2009). I am 6'2", 180 pounds, and use my speed to my advantage. I charted a 4.5 in the 40 yard dash and am not afraid to run in a game. I am strong for my size, and have a pretty strong throwing arm. You can see my highlight video for reaction times. However, it is what is beyond the numbers and records that I would like you to take into account. I am a TEAM player first and foremost. I am the 'quarterback' because I feel my skills are best used in that position - not because I want to be able to say, "I'm the quarterback". I have built a good relationship with my teammates and my coaches. I believe they would tell you that I am well-liked and an honest leader. They know I am a dependable, hard worker. I get to practice and meetings early, and I stay late. I am humble and thankful when I have a good game, and I am accepting of the blame when I don't. I am pretty laid-back and have a fairly quiet nature, but on the field, I am serious about winning and not shy about leaving everything on the field. My options are wide open as far as college is concerned. While I am from the northwest and love it here, I would be willing to locate in another region if the opportunity arises. And while I would love to be part of a smaller school, especially a Christian school, I also would be willing to fit in wherever there is an open door. Please talk to my coaches and feel free to correspond with me or my parents at any time. All contact information is located on this site. If you give me a chance and find that I am a good fit for your program, you will never be disappointed in my work ethic or my integrity. Thanks for your time!
