Personal Statement

My name is James Jenkins, a 6', 218 lbs starting varsity ILB c/o 2026. Football is just a core part of who I am. Since starting tackle football at 6 years old, I have had the goal to play at a competitive, collegiate level. I am a leader both on and off the field, and have always been one of the hardest workers wherever I go. I am highly coachable and learn from those around me.  This has shaped me into the young man I am today and the man I will be in the future. My determination and goal-orientated attitude drives me to become better each day and be the best athlete, teammate, student, son, and brother I can be. During last off-season, I worked hard to increase my size and strength; I started the post season around 165 lbs (now 218 lbs) and ended off-season training with a 445 lb dead lift and a 225 lb clean, and I just recorded a new max bench of 255lb.

I take pride in maintaining my high level of academic achievement–current GPA of 3.77–while doing two high school sports, one select sport, and additional high school and external training.  I want to earn a degree in accounting, business, or economics, while playing football at the college level and want to be a contributing member of my team and community.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
