Personal Statement

I want to continue my swimming career to the collegiate level because swimming is so much more than a sport to me.  Swimming is very meaningful to me; it has helped me form some of my strongest bonds in life and inspires me to excel both in and outside of the pool.  I think I would be the perfect addition to any college team because of my dedication to the sport.  On a daily basis I strive to be a “student” of my sport.  While I may not always be the fastest swimmer in the pool, I make sure to be the most determined and dedicated swimmer in the pool.  I make sure to work harder than my competition each day so I can achieve my goals.

Swimming has helped me accomplish much in and outside of the pool.  Going to NCSA in Florida in 2018 was a high-level competitive life experience for me.   I received Rookie of the Year for Glacier Peak High School (2019-2020); additionally, receiving during this freshman year the WIAA Team Achievement Academic Award (Team and individual GPA 3.5 or higher).  I ended the first semester for my junior year with a 3.6 GPA.  I have achieved all these awards and so many more personal accomplishments. I have excelled in both the classroom, the pool, and the community. In the classroom I have participated in the past years in the National Honor Society, AP World History, AP U.S. History, various dual-credit classes, and have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5. My work ethic is clear with being able to manage my academic duties and maintaining a strong swimming career. Additionally, I take on a selfless perspective to my community, acting as a lifeguard at the local 52,000 square-foot natatorium. In reflection, I am determined, I am a hard worker, I have achieved at a high level, I have gone through adversity, all these qualities are what makes me the perfect candidate for your team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
