My name is Derrik McKinney and I am a 6'4, 175lb pro-style QB. I have been playing tackle football since the first grade and it is my dream to play at the collegiate level. As a freshman, I lettered as a varsity QB which was one of the proudest moments of my life. Since then, I have been continuing to expand my skillet as a varsity QB and team leader. My junior year has been the most productive year for me. I lead my team to a 4-4 record, just missing the playoffs by one game. This may seem like a small accomplishment; however, my school has not seen a winning season in over 16 years so I take great pride in helping to turn our program around. In addition to this I was named second team all-league QB. My commitment to football is year around and reaches beyond the football field.
On the field, I give 100% and am open to feedback from my coaches as well as fellow players. I mentor younger QB's and help my receivers learn new techniques to increase their skillets and footwork. Off the field I mentor my fellow players in math and science to assist them to become eligible and play without limitations. I try to set an example in all aspects of my life to motivate my fellow teammates.
