My name is Dylan Walker, I currently attend Appleton East High school located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Appleton East competes in the Division I, Fox Valley Conference. I am class of 2018, 6’-1¾", and 185 pounds. As a freshman I was provided an opportunity to play on varsity throughout the playoffs. In my sophomore season I was the starting varsity wide receiver. One of my obstacles as a young receiver was learning how to be patient. In my freshman season I was the go-to receiver I had 800 yard receiving and 8 touchdowns in 8 games. My sophomore season is where I had to learn how to be a team player and be as prepared as I could be for when I was called on.
Where it all began for me…. Prior to my high school football program I realized that I had a passion for the game of football and never stood for second best. I wanted to compete at a higher level than most around me and found that I could only be the best at my game if I trained and competed at the best in the game. I have been involved in FBU “Football University”, All American Games. I played in the National Championship Tournament representing Wisconsin my eighth grade year. I have competed at regional camps and showcases throughout Indiana and Ohio since then. Because of my success at the “Top Gun” showcase in Ohio I was invited to the 2016 US Army All American Combine in San Antonio Texas, following my sophomore football season.
It was in my last couple of years where I’ve learned that dedication, preparation and hard work does pay off. Not only am I dedicated and motivated to improve physically, mentally and emotionally in order to continue my success on the football field, but, just as interested in being a leader to those around me. As much as football means to me, my academic career is just as important, if not more. I am setting my goals high in this area and will always work towards achieving a 4.0 GPA. My long term college goal is to graduate with a degree in Sports Medicine-Physical Therapy.
I am looking for a program that will be a perfect fit for me athletically as well as academically. I value the academic aspect of a student-athlete as much as the great experiences I hope to be a part of. In my heart I not only believe I have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, the leadership skills, and work-ethic to make an immediate impact in your program. As a two-sport athlete I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team.
