My name is Matthew McNabb. I am a junior at West DePere High School in DePere, WI. As a sophomore I started on our highly ranked football team as a defensive back. I have become a versatile athlete now in my junior year. I started at both running back and defensive back (and multiple snaps at QB). I also contributed to our teams success as a punt and kick returner. With the help of a very talented O-Line I lead our conference my junior year in rushing yards and points scored. Earning a unanimous vote for 1st team All-Confernece -RB, and also 1st Team All-Region.
I strive to be both strong mentally and physically, as our offensive scheme highly depends on a successful running game. I work hard to be an athlete with good balance, power, speed and agility. I also want to emphasize that I put a top priority on academics. Successfully balancing my course load as a three sport athlete. Both my parents earned post graduate degrees, and have instilled in us that education is of top priority. I have maintained a 3.24 GPA through my mid junior, and will continue to put in the work required to improve that over the next year and a half.
My family history in athletics runs deep as well. My father and uncle both earned football scholarships at the University of Florida and went on to the NFL. Through them I have seen the hard work and dedication that is required to become a successful college student athlete. It has been my long time goal to become a college student athlete and have the opportunity to continue to play the game I love after high school. I believe I have the skill, attitude and family support to achieve that goal and contribute to a college football program in a positive manner. I take pride in the great relationships I have developed with my coaches. I take all feedback (positive and negative) and use it to grow and make myself a better athlete and teammate. Accountability, perseverance, respect and leadership are qualities that are expected in our household and and are qualities I think will be an asset to a college program.
