My main goals in regards to college have to do with getting the best education possible while finishing with the least amount of debt on the back end of my college experience. I have grown up being taught that the best and only way to experience success is to outwork everyone in everything that I do. In the pool, each season I pick out the fastest swimmer on the team (sometimes it's a male) and chase that swimmer with the goal of beating them by the end of the season. It's helped me pass up a lot of swimmers on my team and gotten me to be named captain of my high school team coming into this season (my Junior year). I put a strong emphasis on my academics, knowing that at some point my competing in the pool will end, and I have to make sure that I am as close to a 4.0 in school as I can be. I want to be an engineer and I know that the hard work I am putting in now will make for a much easier life later on. I love everything about swimming. The competition, helping younger swimmers, and doing whatever I can to help the team become better, even if it means switching to swimming a stroke that isn't my strongest. If you look up some of my other times you will see I don't just focus in on one stroke, so I can be someone who can be worked into whatever a college coach is looking for to best help their team.
