Being a two-time state champion, I've already achieved more than the majority of high school athletes. However, I feel that the greatest lessons are learned not from success, but from defeat. I learned this during my freshman season, where I was pulled up to varsity for the playoffs. That year, we lost in the final minutes of the semi-final. I feel as if that heart-breaking defeat allowed me and my team to re-focus and hold ourselves to a higher standard. It pushed me to work harder, not only for myself, but for the upcoming seniors, as many of them would not play after high school. I believe that my desire to achieve the highest standard for myself and my team will allow me to compete at the college level.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend Saint Mary's Springs Academy High School. I have great confidence that this football program will remain successful as I progress through my career here. During my first high school season, the semi-final loss taught me the importance and value of sacrifice, diligence, teamwork, and leadership. I believe that these lessons empowered me and gave me the ability to achieve the successes of the following season. I am confident that I not only possess the talent to compete on at a collegiate level, but also the determination, work-ethic, and potential to help create more success in your program. I believe that my dynamic skill set, as well as my leadership capabilities, set me apart and will make me a valuable addition to your team.
