My name is Alex DePew. I am a junior at Hayward High School in Wisconsin. I am a two sport athlete currently as I participate in football and track. I was a wrestler for 10 years, as well as a baseball and basketball player. As for academics, I maintain a 3.6 GPA throughout many honors and AP classes.
On the offensive side of the ball, I am a two year starting quarterback. In the defensive side, I am a starting right D end as well as some linebacker reps.
Since I was a kid I have always loved the sport of football. It has taught me great values such as leadership, team work, hard work, and most importantly has provided me with a family. My teammates and coaches are some of the best role models and people I have known, and together we make a great team. As an underclassmen, I always looked up to the older guys and I pushed myself hard to play to the high standards. As a result I was able to win the starting job over senior players as a sophomore. Now that I am approaching my senior year it is time to turn it up even higher and bring success to my schools football team, as well as being the role model the underclassmen will look up to just as I used to.
Other than football, I am a varsity track athlete. I compete mainly in the long jump, 4x200 relay, and 200m dash. During the winter, I weight train and work with a former NFL quarterback, Cleveland McCoy, as my private coach. While working hard on the field and in the classroom, I also hold down a job as a mechanic for BD Marine services. In my free time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, working on projects such as fixing boat motors and trucks. All in all I have a very busy life, but football is my #1 priority.
