My name is Andrew Gengler and I am a 5’10, 175 lb. running back. I was starting running back freshman, sophomore and junior year and a kick off returner on special teams at Marquette University High School. Marquette University high school is the winningest program in Wisconsin High school football history and competes in Division one. I had a successful freshman year, which included scoring 4 touchdowns in one game. My success earned me Offensive MVP honors. I was one of a few Freshman that was called up to the varsity team during the playoffs. Sophomore year I was starting running back on the Junior Varsity team and was also back-up running back on the Varsity team. I am currently a Junior and am starting running back for the Varsity team. At our pre-season MUHS training camp I ran a 4.55 40 yard dash. Coaches have told me pound for pound I am the strongest player on the team this year. I pride myself on being a team player and a hard worker both on and off the football field. I am always looking to improve and am a very coachable player. I have participated in the Waukesha combine and UW Madison football camp this last spring. Several camp invites for 2022 summer I am deciding on including D1. I received all conference at RB junior year with over 1000 yards and a 5.6 ypc for what was considered the toughest D1 schedule in the state. This offseason I will continue to workout with my team during our early morning rise and grind lifting and speed training sessions. I am committed this off season to improve my strength, speed and agility. I have a great love of the game of football and am working hard to continue to develop my skills to be able to reach my goal of playing at the collegiate level. My father played college baseball and beyond and I have cousins currently playing division one college football. While football is my athletic focus, I ran track and Field my Sophomore and junior years competing in the 60 and 100m. I attend Marquette University High School (MUHS), a private Jesuit all boys high school in Milwaukee, WI. MUHS is one of 23 private schools to be recognized as a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education. MUHS is a college preparatory school that believes in educating the whole person by fostering the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, artistic moral and physical growth of each student. MUHS has very high academic standards and has pushed me to learn how to balance both academics and athletics with good study habits. I am proud of not only the education that I am receiving at MUHS, but also the better person that MUHS has helped me become through the many volunteer opportunities we are provided. I enjoy the brotherhood that MUHS is helping to foster daily. I am working hard to earn a 3.0 both my Junior and Senior years showing progress at a highly reputable and stringent academic course school. I am looking forward to continuing my education at a strong academic college. I am still deciding between pursuing a degree in communications, business, urban planning or architecture. I am looking forward to the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a contribution to your team.
