I've always wanted to play football at the next level. Playing football with others that share my enthusiasm has always given me great joy.
I think what separates me from others is the knowledge I've gained so far and the desire to learn more. Also, my athleticism and ability to play wherever the team needs me.
I was promoted to varsity my sophomore year. The coaching staff asked me to play outside linebacker, a position I had never played. My primary position at prior levels was at running back. I welcomed the challenge and progressed as the year went on. However, at the beginning of the season, our starting running back was not available and I was asked to fill the void for the first 3 games. As the year went on, a more needed role within the wide receiver group arose, which I was also able to fill. That experience at wide receiver has led to my current role at receiver.
Our junior year, as many other player's years, was affected by covid. Our conference elected to play an alternate season in the Spring of 2021. The adverse environment taught me and my teammates valuable lessons in coping. My primary position junior year was at slot receiver. Our offense used me to catch short passes to utilize my speed, strength, and running back skills. I also played a lot of defense on passing downs at middle linebacker to contain the QB, and play a zone in the middle of the field.
My willingness to learn and flexibility to adapt to the position best suited for me to help the team will make me a good addition to any program.
