Jalyn Brown '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jalyn Brown and I attended Emmanuel Christian School in Dothan, Alabama. I am very interested in pursuing a physical education degree from college. In my first year at Troy University, I finished with a 3.3 GPA. Some of my extracurricular activities outside of school include, playing organized basketball games, playing soccer, baseball, assisting in community clean up efforts, and just hanging out with family and friends.

I started  playing basketball at a very young age. I participated in AAU/Travel basketball for about a year and before college, I started playing basketball at school from 7th-12th grade and became a starter in the 9th grade. I can play all five position, but I played small forward, power forward, and center. The most recent season, I averaged about 13 points with 10 rebounds and a couple of assists. I consider myself a coachable and a team player. Currently, I am a basketball manager at Troy University but when I come home, I train with Jeremy McKay, former Valdosta State and Sam Houston State player and David’s Performance Factory in Dothan, AL. Some of my basketball accomplishments include: Team Captain for Varsity basketball team, lead Varsity basketball in rebounds, blocks, steals, and was the only player to average a double double on the team, 2019, 2020 defensive player of the year on the team, selected on the first team PCC All-Conference Team, and Dothan Wiregrass Super 12 Honorable Mention.
