Personal Statement

Personal Statement

Tell coaches about my collegiate goals and aspirations. My goals and aspirations are to study chemical engineering, graduate college with a 4.0 GPA, and to be a outstanding player at the college level. Winning a championship in college is one of the biggest dreams and goals I have.  It is a top priority of mine to excel at these goals that I've set for myself while in college.  My long-term goals are to become a pro NBA player or a Chemical Engineer. I love Engineering especially Chemical Engineering, I love the branch because Chemical Engineers are helping the world by addressing the energy crisis the world has going on. Chemical Engineers also help make the environment as safe as possible and those are the two main reasons why I can see myself as a Chemical Engineer. I love basketball because I grew up with it. I instantly fell in love with the sport and as I got older my passion for the game grew more and more. Basketball has honestly changed my life, I've learned many life lessons through the sport of basketball. Those are some of the reasons why basketball is one of my long-term goals.

What makes you a good candidate for their team? I'm extremely hard working, I can play at any position, I bring a strong passion for the game, and I'm a very quick learner it won't take long for me to adjust at all. I keep a level head in any situation the team may face during the season or offseason. I can shoot the ball, I can drive, rebound, pass, and i can be a great defensive force! I love competition, I feel like there is no better feeling than being able to prove yourself against other great players. I feel like competition drives me and pushes me to a greater limit, it makes me want to exceed expectations and motivates me to go harder. I'm willing to make sacrifices for the great or good of the team and I always encourage my teammates to do their best.

What makes you different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics?  I'm selfless, whatever needs to be done for the sake of the team I'm all in. It's about the success of the team more so than the success of me. I'm a leader on every aspect of the court, the bench, offense, and defense. I'm a leader in the locker room I always do my best to keep the guys as focused as possible and to always keep their heads up. I'm dependable in any situation a coach needs me i'm there 100%. I have determination, if the team sets a goal at the beginning of the season and by mid-season we're not looking like we're gonna achieve that goal I'm not gonna give up because I'm completely determined on accomplishing that goal.  Athletically I bring versatility by being able to play any position a coach needs. I also bring the work ethic, the grit and the overall will to perform to the best of my abilities.  Academically I love to learn new things and I love to learn more things about topics I already know.
