Since my freshman year I have attended school in three different states (Oregon, Oklahoma and now Alaska), where I had to adapt to new friends, new teachers and new coaches.
During my freshman year I lived in Oregon and was a varsity starter. I got screamed at, made a ton of mistakes and had a fantastic time learning. During this season I made All conference honorable mention which has never been done their freshman year. I played on an AAU team called the Oregon Heat basketball team where I traveled all over the Northwest and made the top 100 freshman on the west coast. During my Sophomore and Junior year I lived in Oklahoma, varsity starter and made all conference. The Newcastle basketball team was 1 point away of going to state, for the first time in school history. I played on the same AAU team, the Oregon Heat and traveled to Vegas where I was playing in the Fab 48. I am now a Senior and ending my career in Ketchikan Alaska. I absolutely love it! I love living in a community where basketball is the main sport. We have a great team and I hope to win state!
Moving, while it was super frustrating, has been a fantastic experience because I am not very adaptable. Even though I had to meet new friends, learn a new town, make new friends, I have kept my 3.7 GPA and worked hard in athletics. I have taken Advanced Placement classes, learned new activities such as maritime or Agriculture, and dominated in the athletic realm.
