Carson Woods '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a senior at Cactus Shadows High School and have loved to play basketball since I was seven years old.  While I’ve played other sports, basketball has always been my passion and it’s been a dream of mine to play at the college level.  I began playing competitive club ball in the fourth grade and joined a travel AAU team during the summer of my Freshman year.  I am committed to becoming the best basketball player I can be.

I’ve always had a good feel for the game and great vision on the court, seeing opportunities develop and taking advantage of opponent’s weaknesses.  As I’ve become older and stronger, I’ve pushed myself to become a standout scorer and exceptional passer, creating opportunities for my team mates and leading my team to winning seasons as captain and team MVP.  I work year-round on improving my game and take as much pride in my defensive game and off-ball movement as I do in my offensive scoring and passing.  If given the opportunity, I’ll bring everything I have to the court, every time, along with a passion for learning and improving.

I’ve found working hard in the classroom and working hard on the court go hand-in-hand, and I’d like a school that offers me the opportunity to do both.  While I want to be a strong contributor on a competitive team, I’d also like a school that can prepare me for a career in business.  I’m excited to live on my own, and even outside of my home state of Arizona.
