My compassion for other's really defines my values and has driven me to choose a career in healthcare as an anesthesiologist. This value also can be seen when I am on the court as I am a selfless player that understands that importance of team success over my own personal success. As a young child I enjoyed playing street ball with my older neighborhood friends and learned that blocked shots or stolen passes only assisted in my development as a player. Another unique characteristic that I learned from playing against my older friends, is that I am not afraid or intimidated to play anyone and in fact if it provides me the experience to be the best I can be, I look forward to it.
Aspiring to be an anesthesiologist is going to require me to take honors classes in high school (in which I am enrolled in) as well as pursue my degree as an MD prior to entering the anesthesiology program.
My strong leadership skills and verbal skills have allowed me to be a leader on and off the court as I am able to inspire and motivate people. I have been told by my coaches that I have a high basketball IQ and this allows me to truly understand the game and situations that arise. This has helped me understand the cause and effect of the decisions that are made on the court.
I humbly thank- you for the opportunity, and I look forward to the next chapter.
