To me, basketball isn't only a game. It's a way of getting a better education. I plan to use my basketball abilities to further improve my education. Getting an athletic scholarship would be amazing because I would be able to play the sport I love and at the same time, to pursue my degree in business. My goal is to be great and to become an inspiration to others.
I can see myself playing college basketball. I believe in hard work and that nothing comes easy in life. In order to get to what you want, you have to be willing to work hard. My coach told me that in order to be great, you must make sacrifices, sacrifice requires making certain decisions and those decisions have consequences. I work very hard for what I believe is possible. I know if other people can do it, then I can do it too. All my life, people have tried to bring me down by telling me I'm not good enough. They would tell me I was too short and that I would never be good at basketball. Instead of listening to them, I decided to use that as motivation to make me work one-hundred times harder. I strongly believe that nothing is impossible. It just depends on how much you want it.
I've learned a lot from playing basketball. I've learned to be strong and stay motivated. I strive to make myself and the players around me better. On the court I focus my attention on the things most athletes lack. I would rather get a defensive stop before I score a basket. I'm willing to always make that extra pass in order to help the team succeed. I'm able to score the ball and I can maintain the flow of the game. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help my team and make our bond stronger as a team.I play every game like its my last,I'm willing to leave my blood sweat and tears on the court, i know that doesn't make me different but that want stands out to me when i play and that what's helped the teams i've played for in the past. Muhammad Ali once said that Greatness is never a given; it must be earned and I'm willing to work hard academically and physically to achieve my goal of playing basketball at the next level.
