Lucas Holden '18 Recruiting Profile

I'm motivated to excel at everything I do. Whether that's driving my performance in class, practicing with my Varsity teammates or my club team both on and off the court.

With 3 brothers who are all excellent basketball players we have developed a competitive close knit relationship.  Now that my older brother and I are both starters on the same varsity team, we are having a fantastic experience leading our high school team as we enter the competitive season within our school league.

I believe that basketball is a great learning environment to make me a better man in every way.  The team work, the support we provide each other through great games and tough losses sets us up well for life as we move from High School to College.   My family is a great support system for me.  They support my training and help me work out and maximize my development both in and outside of the school setting.

As a leader on my team, I have a huge responsibility to demonstrate leadership off the court.  As a 6ft 6 in. varsity player at a large high school, the responsibility to showcase our program, school ethics and hard work to younger students is a critical element of my playing philosophy.  I actively mentor younger kids as they enter and develop through school (whether they are in basketball or not).

I've had the opportunity of experiencing real life struggles working as a part time, volunteer assistant in a Family Law firm.  I have seen how peoples lives can turn for any number of challenges.  This experience has helped me become more rounded in my thinking, helped me mature my perspectives and approach to how I want to live my life.

I work hard to build on my 4.25 GPA.  I work equally hard at the gym and on the Varsity court.  I'm a tough and physical competitor focused on growing physically and mentally through hard work, tough competition and leveraging the benefit of a fantastic sibling playing pressure !

I'm looking to play collegiate level ball.  I'm in the top 5 in blocks in the county as a junior, I have a very strong presence on and off the court.   I work hard, play hard and have a strong commitment to my goals, my friends and family to continue to develop into the best man possible.
