I am a Senior at Aptos High School. I am a versatile player, playing multiple positions, but primarily as a small forward. My strengths are my speed, tenacity and ability to read the next play and act on it offensively and defensively.
At the end of my Freshmen season, in which I starting on the Junior Varsity team as the leading scorer, Covid-19 hit and shut down all basketball team play in our county, so we had no High School Summer League and no AAU competitive play. To keep training and improving, I worked with two basketball coaches throughout the shutdown.
My Sophomore Varsity and AAU play was limited due to Covid-19 restrictions in the Spring and Summer, so I was very excited to get back to a regular season and fans in the stands. This past season I was a starter on Varsity playing numerous roles, but mostly shooting guard. Our team had a very successful season, the highest winning percentage in eight years, making it into the state tournament.
Numerous coaches and trainers have stated that I am very coachable, and I enjoy learning new offensive and defensive strategies. I am looking for a college opportunity where I can learn and contribute to the team success with my selfless play.
Academically, Covid really impacted me; our school's approach was challenging, and never reopened during the 20-21 school year. I have retaken classes to improve my GPA, but some were unavailable to retake for credit recovery. I currently have an A average for the first quarter of my Senior year. I am looking forward to continuing my education.
