My name is Darrell Henry Jr. I'm a Freshman graduating Class of 2022, at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. My long term collegiate goals and aspiration is to go pro and play professional basketball in the NBA or become a well-known basketball commentator for ESPN or a national network station. I have a deep passion and commitment to the sport of basketball and I eagerly anticipate a longterm career within basketball. My short term goal is to be a dedicated and determined high school student basketball athlete. I am interested in pursuing my college education at a Division I College that will challenge me to grow and develop mentally, physically, and academically. I'm interested in becoming a part of a highly competitive athletic program in which my skills and talents can shine and promote the team. Being a part of Mater Dei Monarchs basketball team, I hold a deep passion for the competitive environment. Basketball is a sport in which I have a strong love and passion for and I hope to one day have the opportunity to compete at a professional level.
What makes you a good candidate for their team?
I purpose to stand out from the rest of my peers and fellow team players. I'm a very intense defensive player. Most players can't get by me, as well as I'm an effective ball handler. My speed is dynamic fast and versatile, with the ability to play multiple positions well. I'm a leader on the court and within my position. I bring a lot to a team as I consider myself to be a playmaker! I currently run both point guard and shooting guard position on my high school Junior Varsity Team and my travel ball team.
What makes you different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics? I'm effective, very selfless placing my team before myself so as a whole my team is successful. I bring a positive attitude to every team embracing my teammates and coaching staff. I'm determined to work hard every day to become the success I dream of daily. I pride myself in being a scholar-athlete as I work diligently on and off the court in every aspect of my life.
