At a young age (four years old) I developed a true passion for the game of basketball. Watching footage of all-time NBA greats like Kobe Bryant interested me more than a toy or game that any ordinary toddler would use for entertainment. My family plays a major role in my life. Although I am the youngest of three, I am a natural leader. As a natural born leader, I possess multiple leadership qualities. I have been recognized as a player able to bring out the best in other players. Out on the hardwood floor my teammates look to me for guidance and support. Over my years of playing basketball coaches have been able to trust me with play calling because of my high basketball IQ.
Participating in sports has taught me how to win and lose gracefully. I’ve learned to take lessons away from every loss and how to maximize successes that will translate into more wins. My basketball skills go beyond leadership. I am an excellent ball-handler, aggressive facilitator and timely scorer. I have the unique ability to adapt my game to fit the scheme of any offense. I have exhibited the ability to be a primary scorer, primary facilitator or a combination of each. I am also an effective team defender and antagonistic one-on-one defender while using my basketball IQ to out-think opposing players.
In high school, I aim to be a high honor roll student to increase my ability to be accepted into a selective institution for college. My academic college aspirations are to excel as a pre-med student ultimately moving on to medical school. I hope that basketball can support my ultimate goals. Athletically, my goal is to lead my high school team to back-to-back conference championships this year and hopefully a state title. I am extremely competitive and committed to winning by maximize the most out of my physically gifts, high basketball IQ and most of all my heart and workmanlike manner.
