Chris Swardstrom '19 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play for a nationally recognized college basketball team, including possibly an Ivy League School.

I am passionate about basketball, a fierce competitor, a leader on the court, a playmaker, and I place my team's interests first.  I understand that success comes through hard work.  I find every opportunity to improve my game with both team practices and individual training at the gym. Whether it's 5:30 a.m.  in the morning  before school., or 9:00 p.m. after my homework is finished, I take every opportunity to get better and to study the game. I am fortunate to work out with top trainers, as well as Div 1 college players and recruits, as well as pro D League players.  I also work on strength and conditioning on my own, and 3 times a week with a personal strength and conditioning coach. This has helped me increase my vertical jump, quickness, and strength.

While basketball and school work are very important in my life, the development of my character is equally, if not more, important. Putting others first, including my team, is paramount.

I've earned many basketball honors through the years through club teams and high school basketball. In 2018,  as a Junior, I was honored to be named to the First Team All-League.

While my high school, Crean Lutheran is relatively small,  our basketball program is remarkable.  In 2018, we were undefeated in our league. Our team has done incredibly well in the post-season, CIF State Championship Tournaments (Div 3AA), as well, defeating other state ranked basketball teams. It is truly a privilege to play a pivotal role in my team's success! I am looking forward to a great 2018/2019 season!
