Jeryn Lucas '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Jeryn Lucas. I am a Senior at West Campus High School, in Sacramento CA. I've been on the varsity boys’ basketball team since the second half of my sophomore year, when I was moved up and into the starting lineup.  I lead my team in scoring the last 2 years and I am the team leader and Captain this year as well. I'm a 6'4 combo guard and weigh 184 pounds. My wingspan is 6'9 so my body can play many positions on the court. My life is surrounded by basketball but I know grades are important. My overall GPA is about 3.33

I am on an AAU team during the off season and work out with a skills coach because I'm always trying to improve myself. During the summer I’ve joined basketball camps and played AAU. I understand without grades I can't get anywhere with basketball so grades are my first priory. My goal is to play college ball and study sports medicine/physical therapy. I am a very determined person and I won't let anything stop me from playing basketball and achieving my goals. I have an attitude that is unique because I am very motivated to become the best. I’m a team player and love taking advice from other people and I love learning new things. I lead by example and that allows me to gain the respect of my teammates. I understand the responsibility of being a leader and it shows on and off the court.
