David Wheeler '16 Recruiting Profile

My goal has been to play basketball at the college level for several years.  Realizing my local high school program was probably not going to help me accomplish this, I was fortunate to find a local prep basketball program that was part of a charter school system.

Diego Hills Charter and the basketball program have given me a fantastic opportunity to increase the level of my skills and the competitive level is outstanding which I believe is fully preparing me to contribute when I move on to college.

Another aspect that makes me a stronger candidate for college is my academic disciplines.  I have maintained a high GPA and I am already taking college courses at a local Junior College. 

Related to basketball specific, while I am a knock-down shooting guard with a deep range, I have also been working on my drive and ability to elevate.  This combination, coupled with an increasing ability to defend the other team's best shooter, provides an unusual mix for a SG.
