Hugo Rutherfurd '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Hugo Rutherfurd, I am a 6 foot 9 inch stretch big who can play 3 though 5. I've been around high level sports for the majority of my life and I've seen the commitment it takes. My two older sisters both played high level club volleyball  and continued to the college level, where one became a team captain and played all four years. My father used to be a swimmer at a very high level. 

I started playing basketball in 5th grade and since then I've played and started for the top clubs in San Francisco, including Bay City and most recently the SF Soldiers. In high school, I have been a varsity starter my freshmen, sophomore, and junior seasons and captain for the last two years. I hope to continue my improvement at the next level and do what I can to contribute to a good basketball program. 

Playing college basketball has been a dream of mine for quite some time. I believe I would be an asset to any team I am on. 

I'm a very hard worker on both ends of the floor as well as off the court. I am extremely coachable and am willing to fit any role asked of me. I am a good teammate and a leader on and off the court, and I bring energy and intensity to any team that I am a part of.  These have been the comments and impressions of every coach I've played for, and I intend to build on that foundation. These traits have worked for me. My game is growing as I develop and it just gets more fun to play.
