There are many good players that you see on a regular basis. What sets me apart is my passion for the sport of basketball. Not only have I been a life long student of the game, I’m continually looking to improve my skills through camps, skills coaching, physical conditioning, and always seeking to learn more. I have played on my club team, Coastal Elite, since I was in 4th grade and I have been coached by Leigh Marshall, the Palomar College women’s head coach, the entire time. The intangibles she has taught me are leadership, playing as a team, controlling attitude and effort, and being coachable. These intangibles have allowed me to be a captain as a junior on varsity, assisting with coaching at AAU and Highschool, and developed an extremely high IQ for the game. As a result of this, I have been on a starter on Coastal Elite’s team for the last few years and I have earned this spot by putting my body on the line, using my basketball IQ, being a leader, honing in on defense, and knocking down shots.
As I move to the next level, a college career, I’m looking for the opportunity to be a major contributor on a basketball team. My passion for the game creates a loyalty to my team through challenges and a loyalty to stay true to my work ethic. I want to continue to develop my skills, my basketball IQ, be a leader and be a contributor to a successful program. My work ethic is reflected by the success I’ve had on the court and academically. In addition to my athletics, my academics will continue to be a major focus of my college experience. My academic goal is majoring in business with a focus in sports management.
These intangibles along with my passion and loyalty to my team and program will be an asset and provide many benefits to any school I attend.
