James Powell '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6' shooting guard from Ventura County, California. I have been playing basketball for 10-years. I am currently a Senior at Royal High School starting on the Varsity Team.I broke the Royal High School record for 3 pointer's in a single season with 84 baskets made (please see press releases in profile).I am also the leading 3 point shooter in the Marmonte League. In this years season, I was the player who sent our 43 year old program into the deepest run of CIF Play off's by making a 3 point basket in the last few seconds of our second round game to win by 1 point. I played Varsity last year and I have received the Coaches Award, MVP and was recognized with the "All League Player" award in a tournament. I have remained disciplined and my work ethic is what has led me to achieve my goals today, which consists of a grade point average of 3.4 and being a team leader and motivator on the court. I would like to attend a college either in California or in the surrounding states. I am eager to continue to play ball with passion and intensity but at the next level, while obtaining a college degree. I love to work with kids and give back to my community through the Dylan Gregory Hatch Foundation.
