Hello Coaches,
My name is Sanya (Flookie) Soukchareon, but you can call me “Flookie.” Ever since I was young, I have played a variety of sports such as football, track, baseball, and swim. However, to me, none of those sports ignited any passion and competition inside me...until I started basketball. Basketball became an important part of my life that I can’t live without.
From there I started playing at a higher level such as AAU and personal training. I play point guard as my first position and shooting guard as my second. As a point guard, my first instinct is to create for my team. I am unselfish with the ball and I try my best to get my teammates open shots with high percentages. One of my best attributes would be speed and I like pushing the tempo and play at a fast pace and get quick easy points, but I’m able to distinguish when to slow down. I’m also able to handle pressure well. As a defender, I’m able to put a lot of pressure on the ball using my quickness.
My goals are to continue my basketball career to college and hopefully to the professional level or overseas. I love to win and I’ll do whatever it takes. I’m not just saying it either. If I need to be dominant to win, then I will. If I need to be a team player, then I will. If I need to play a tough role, then I will. I love to play basketball and I love to win.
In school and academics, my grades are high. I know what needs to get done and I do it. So I would say that I am a hard and diligent worker on and off the court.
Finally, thank you coaches for reading this far. If you are interested me or my style of play, I would really love to hear from you.
Thank you again,
Sanya (Flookie) Soukchareon
