Hi my name is Andrew Betancourt and I have been playing water polo since the 8th grade, I am currently in my last year of high school. Water polo has been a sport where I feel I can be free and play the sport I love, I never realized how much water polo has helped me with my personal problems and it was also a great way to meet friends. I understand that when playing a sport in college is a privilege and I will be giving 110% in my academics and sport. My mindset is a quite simple one, I have a goal where I can focus on school ask questions to be able to perform at a level where I've never been before, but I know I can get there. I feel as if I can be a great member to a team because I am not afraid to point out what I can do better and ask for help, I want to show the coaches that I am dedicating every hour I have too in order to meet their expectations for every player on that team. I want to build a connect with the coaching staff and players, because in my opinion communication is a great skill to have on a sports team and you can carry that skill for any job you apply for. I also wanted to state I am left handed and play mostly at the wing. If I am given a chance to play on a college water polo team I will spend everyday proving too you that you didn't pick the wrong person. I appreciate everyone who took the time to read my statement, I hope everyone has an amazing day.
